Read the battery percent
Magic Tray puts an Apple device's battery percent beside your Windows 10 or Windows 11 clock. Download it, run it, then hover the small battery icon in the taskbar to read the number. Click that icon instead and it lists every paired Apple mouse, keyboard and trackpad.

Some call it the battery percentage, some the battery indicator. It's the same number.
Which Apple devices show a battery percent?
Magic Tray reports a battery percent for every Apple Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad it recognises on Windows 10 and 11. Mice and trackpads need nothing extra. A keyboard needs a one-time unlock first. Only three devices have been confirmed by a tester so far.

Can I see my Apple keyboard's battery percent on Windows?
Yes. Windows shows no percent for an Apple keyboard on its own, but Magic Tray does after a one-time unlock you run from its menu. Your keyboard keeps the standard Windows Bluetooth driver. The 2011 Apple Wireless Keyboard is confirmed, and every rechargeable Magic Keyboard should work, though nobody has confirmed one yet.

Low battery warnings
Magic Tray shows a Windows notification when an Apple device's charge falls past the level you choose. The three levels are 10 percent, 5 percent and 1 percent. Click the tray icon and open Low battery alert to change which one you get, or to turn it off.

Why is no battery percent showing?
Four things stop a percent appearing on Windows. The device is asleep, so wake it and pick Refresh Now. The tray icon is hidden behind the taskbar's ^ arrow. It's a keyboard that hasn't had its one-time unlock yet. Or Magic Tray doesn't recognise that model.

Which Apple devices has a tester confirmed?
Three. The Magic Mouse 2024 (0323), the Magic Mouse v1 with AA batteries (030D), and the 2011 Apple Wireless Keyboard (0239). Every other Apple mouse, keyboard and trackpad Magic Tray recognises should work, but nobody has sent a report yet. Send one and yours joins the list.
